Prince Harry expresses fear for Meghan Markle’s safety in the UK

In the UK, Prince Harry is fighting to maintain his and his family's right to police protection. To challenge a decision that deprived him of his automatic right to security following his resignation from the royal responsibilities in 2020, the Duke of Sussex released a statement.

Harry wasn't physically present in court during the three-day hearing, so his legal team shared his remarks.

Harry added in his statement, that he and his wife left the country in 2020 which is very sad for the both of us.

The couple have a son named Archie and a daughter Lilbet. He then continued in a statement saying I can’t put my wife’s life in risk like that.

In 2020, the Duke of Sussex said that he and his family will cover the expense of security after resigning from their royal obligations. He was no longer eligible for guaranteed police protection, though, as the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) chose to reject his offer.

They moved to California in 2020 and just visited UK once after that to attend the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Harry expressed concerns about the lack of security, but the Home Office backed up his statement that he “would no longer be a working member of the Royal Family and would be living abroad for the majority of the time” by stating that his position had “materially changed.”
