Jada Pinkett Smith once said she “never” wanted to marry Will Smith — and even cried at their “horrible” wedding. She said in the interview, “After all those years trying to figure out if I would leave Will’s side, it took that slap for me to see I will never leave him.”
Separated for seven years
While promoting her memoir ‘Worthy' Pinkett Smith revealed in October she and Will Smith were separated when he slapped Rock. They’ve been living separate lives for seven years but appeared to grow closer during her book tour. She added she made a promise that there would never be a reason for them to get a divorce. She said further she would work through whatever and just has not broken that promise.

She said in the interview, “When I was sitting at the Oscars, it clicked in, I was like, ‘Oh snap, you hit Chris.’ I was like, ‘I’m riding with you. I didn’t come into this place as your wife, but I’m leaving here as your wife because we got a storm we’re gonna have to deal with together. I am NOT going to leave your side.’ I said, ‘I’m not gonna be able to get away from this dude. I really love him.’”
